For valentines day, instead of spending insane amounts of money on gifts for Peter and the girls I made them some gifts.

These are the lovebugs I made for the girls. Are they not the cutest things.

This is the fireflower I made for Peter. Crocheting amigurumi into a square is no easy feat, but I think it turned out great.
I also made this popheart and this heart garland for around the house.

Just a couple of things I made before Christmas this year. A jellyfish for Bug’s class gift exchange and a sweater dress for China. The dress I made up as I went and China had many, many fittings which she was not crazy about, but she loves wearing it.
The kids were playing out in this gorgeous weather and I had to snap a couple of shots of the snowman(Cats first). So here you go.

Oh and this is my new favorite…complete fluke…picture of Cat.

Cute kids, huh?
I spent this past weekend at my sisters house. I was there to attempt to help out as my new nephew Lucas and big brother Rylan seem to be quite the handful. I didn’t get to help as much as I hoped but did get lots of cuddles from the boys. It was also Lucas baby-shower. So I decided to make gifts for both boys, so neither would be left out. Rylan has a fish themed bedroom, and a fish tank in his room, so I made these:

Lucas is too young to collect anything, so I made the decision that he needs aliens. I made these for him:

And here is the little cutiepie enjoying one:

Isn’t he adorable. There is more that I have made and done lately that could be added, but that is enough for today I think.
So I have been home enough that I could have updated numerous times, but I have been so busy that when I do have a free moment I haven’t felt like it.
I had the brownie troop spend a weekend at my house. Nat and I had a good time with them, though I was happy to see them leave and have my house back down to a dull roar. Crafty wise I made them a few things. The butterfly key-chains were valentines gifts from me, and I also sewed/crocheted duty bags for them.

I also let the girls paint my livingroom window for their mural project. I am just today washing it off, but has been a nice and colorful decoration in my house for the last 2 weeks.

The only reason I am really washing it off, is cause I can’t see the birds in the front feeders, and you all know how much I love my birds.
I went outside for a minute and when I came in Cat had taken my crochet count note book and was drawing in it. She looked up at me and said “you so pretty momma”. I of course thought she was trying to stay out of trouble for drawing in my book, but upon closer inspection she showed me her first family drawing. She and I are so proud of her….but now she is being incredibly rude, not 5 minutes later. The wonder of 2 year olds…moment over.

After Cat not sharing her cute little bunny I decided to make something just for Bug. She has a thing for ocean type stuff so I found a pattern for this cute little jellyfish. She has been carrying it around on her finger ever since…I guess she likes it.

Last night I finished Cat’s crocheted bunny. It is quite funny watching her with it, she walks around hopping with it all day. She won’t let Bug touch it though…not very sisterly. I’ll have to work on the sharing thing around here. Anyways here’s a pic of bunny(Cat’s name for him)

She tells me that he is hungry cause he can’t eat, cause he needs a mouth…never thought of that, but she loves him all the same.

While I was working on some yarn projects I couldn’t help noticing Cats necklace. Actually it was driving me crazy…the way she was dragging it on the floor and banging the cheap beads on the walls. So I decided my kids needed some house and kid friendly jewellery. The following is my first attempts at this. I made a necklace/scarf and a bracelet/wrist warmer for each of them. Bug likes hers so much, she hasn’t taken them off in a couple days.

I have since bought the only wool yarn in this whole town and am going to try something similar, just felted…I think that would look much nicer..but sadly I am allergic to wool and Bug possibly is also.
